Virtual Mixed Tape.

Ok, so I have a few core songs that I hear on the radio and I just loose it. I'm talking dancing while driving rocking out sessions. And every great once in a while you come across a really great radio station or Pandora playlist that plays all your favorites back to back. Anyone who knows me or that has been in a car with me knows I always have Rascal Flatts, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, and Renee Olstead in my car cd player. And there they will always stay. But I listen to all different types of music depending on the occasion or my mood. Here's a few of my favorites...

Dancing In The Car Mix
1. King of Anything by Sara Bareilles
2. Not Over You by Gavin Degraw
3. Mr. Know It All by Kelly Clarkson (The instrumental track of this song instantly shoots me back to Starship's "Nothings Gunna Stop Us Now" mixed with a little Donna Lewis vibe. Hey, I can't be the only one who rewound the movie Mannequin over and over again at the end to re-watch their wedding in the store window can I?)
4. Pretty much anything Bruno Mars (He's kind of a big deal.)

I love these favorites to chill out to on the way home after a very long day.

Mellow Mode Mix
1. Summertime by Brianna Taylor (Yes, from The Real World Hollywood. Don't judge me! Good music is good music!)
2. Moonriver by Andy Williams (There's just nothing quite like it.)
3. Come Away With Me by Nora Jones
4. To Make You Feel My Love by Adele
5. Winter Song by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michelson
6. She Is Love by Parachute
7. Warm Whispers by Holly Brook
8. One and Only by Teitur
9. Just Tonight (acoustic version) by Pretty Reckless
10. You Belong To Me by The Duprees

Stole it. Nail's of the season.

Courtesy of thebeatydepartment.com .....I saw this and I just had to share! This is such a great idea! We are so busy around this time of year that we completely forget about our nails! Don't forget to get festive with those too ladies! I don't think I am brave enough to try this on myself just yet but my 9 year old might be the perfect ginny pig. Or my toes.... hmmmm.

Santa baby.

So we took the little munchkins to see Santa yesterday. It was a very good looking Santa but that was about it. He did nothing special and he didn't even say one word! Riley jumped on his lap willingly but then it came time for Dakota. She didn't cry but boy did she give him the stink eye! She gazed at him for a minute and then has hard as she could she yanked his beard. He then resulted in turning her sideways and holding her half way upside down. I quickly ran and grabbed her thinking what the heck is wrong with this Santa! You can't just go around dangling babies, you crazy man! He made a pissed off face prompting Dakota to be totally and completely over it. The look on her face was like who on earth is this grumpy old man! We then had to put Kody on Riley's lap for her to even be ok to take the picture. All and all we got a shot with no tears. It wasn't a full of smiles shot but it also wasn't as bad as it could have been.
I mean..... it wouldn't have killed him to smile! After all dude you are SANTA! Just saying.

Baby It's Cold Outside.

I LOVE this rendition of Baby It's Cold Outside. I was a huge fan of both Casey and Haley on American Idol so when this video was released I was all over it!
Tis' the season for really great music!

Love Joseph.

I am currently obsessed with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He is hot, funny, and did i mention HOT! Seriously i could stare at him for hours. And he just seems like such a cool character. Like you would want to hang out with him. And is it just me or does he remind anyone else a little bit of the late Heath Ledger? I totally see it! And of course i could never forget the movie they did together, "10 Things I Hate About You" one of my favorites! I still to this day watch it over and over. Not only did Heath sing in that movie but it had a double dose of hotness with him and Joseph. (Side note: I wonder what Joseph's friends call him? Joe? J? Joey? hmmmm.) Any who kudos to JGL's mom and pop for giving us such a handsome man! Not to mention an incredible actor. Oh my damn, I can't wait for the new Batman movie! Oh and to add a little comic book movie adaptation note to the mix...um hello Joesph would have made an amazing Peter Parker! Just so you know. Where were you at on that one Sony Pictures? Just saying.

Happy Halloween.

It's Halloween time! I walked out my front door this morning to be greeted by a heavy layer of fog, can you say creepy yet incredibly appropriate. It was so dark and foggy i couldn't see the steps in front of my door. So i reached inside my door to turn on my porch light and my husband had replaced my normal bright white bulb with a black light bulb and it did not help at all. And i would be lying if I said I wasn't totally creeped out! I somewhat ran to my car.

Over the weekend my husband and I sat down to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time ever. You should just know first and foremost i love that soundtrack. And i have always wanted to watch the movie, so i did. I can honestly say i wasted 2 years of my life and i will never get that time back. The movie was awful. I don't get it. And oh Tim Curry. Never again, never again. Do yourselves a favor and just say no to The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Tonight is my babies first Halloween and it will be a lot of fun taking her around the neighborhood with her big sister. Have a happy and safe Halloween! -(:0)
My little Pumpkins! Mummy loves you!!

Best Cover Ever.

I happen to love love love Adele. She is amazing and i could listen to her over and over again. I will never forget the tone in her voice as long as i live she is truly a incredible talent. That being said i think i have found the best possible cover done of her song "Someone Like You". I was perusing YouTube and found this. Charlie Puth and Emily Luther sure know what they are doing! And Ellen my fellow YouTube browser has even signed them to her record label. Get ready because here they come. Do yourselves a favor...listen and enjoy.
Uh Huh. Incredible.

Oh Alice.

The Breaking Dawn bridesmaid dress donned by miss Ashley Greene herself is seriously pretty. Granted I am partial to purple but you have to dig the flapper vibe and 1940's hair wave. Simply gorgeous. Kudos to the costume designer and Stephanie Meyers for making this selection. I like every other women in the world am anxiously awaiting the pending nuptials of Ms Swan and Mr Cullen. If your not a twilight fan then you haven't read the books. If you don't like to read do yourself a favor and YouTube the audio books. If you aren't willing to do that then don't talk to me.

Moonriver and me.

Don't the lyrics..."two drifters" just make every single women out there want to turn on some circa 1950's love story and dream they were the leading lady? Maybe tap into your inner Vivien Leigh or Rita Hayworth. Oh, the way things were. When movies were still referred to as "the silver screen" and Hollywood still glittered. Going to the movies was a grand event harnest with excitement and promise. Now when i depart on my local cinematic adventure i feel hints of nostalgia, wondering if in my lifetime if I will be lucky enough to ever experience the entertainment industry that way. They may say that I'm a dreamer, but at least I'm not the only one.
Now every once in a great while comes a long a film that takes us back in time to those old romances. Nicholas Sparks blessed us with a beautiful love story that was big and grand and at times incredibly painful. Hard to stomach feeling so involved as we all did but impossible to give up on. The Notebook in one word is and will remain captivating. I found myself wanting to go fight with my husband just to make up a minute later. The endless game of back and worth. I love you I hate you but in all reality i simply cannot live without you. Ah! Pure gold in my book. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams will forever be Noah and Allie to me. When i see them in different films I can't help but still get the warm and fuzzies over how they portrayed that story and how they made us all feel. It truly is a treat to watch.
I for the first time ever finally sat down to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. Que the gasping! Me of all people owned the film and shamefully enough in sat in it's packaging way longer then it ever should have. Myself being a bigger Katherine Hepburn fan then Audrey thought it was worth checking out. Maybe then i could understand all of the hype behind it and why every girl I know who says they love vintage anything has a breakfast a Tiffany's photo somewhere on their wall or in their home. So I sat and I watched. I have to say i enjoyed the film. In a way i felt like Audrey was in her own right a bit of a loose cannon. Her very own version of a hotmess if you will searching for love and getting roughed up along the way. Wanting so badly to be in a glamorous wealthy relationship that she starts to forget what is truly important. This is strictly my opinion of course. I feel like there was a pattern of actresses way back when. You were either incredibly bold and confident and possessed a strong steadfast presence. Or you were a bit all over the place man to man melancholy about life and it's meaning. Most of all just not knowing what truly made you happy. Which is what still transpires into the entertainment industry today. There are those two types of leading ladies. Though they may look and talk different they are still the very same women just decades later.
